Aging well does not happen by chance. It happens by choice. Five Plus Protein was built on the belief that food should be both functional and enjoyable, equipping people to take a proactive role in their health. Every product reflects the company’s mission: to provide non-GMO, gluten-free, plant-based protein supplements that are easy to digest, contain no added sugar, and deliver anti-inflammatory benefits, all while tasting great.
Five Plus is more than a protein bar brand. It is a philosophy grounded in three pillars: five properties that define every product, a proactive approach to wellness, and the recognition of food as medicine. Each bar is designed with these principles at the forefront, helping customers live with energy and age well.

Five Properties That Set Five Plus Apart
Five Plus Protein is guided by five non-negotiables: non-GMO, vegan, gluten-free, high in fiber, and no added sugar. These properties reflect a standard of purity and transparency rarely seen in the supplement world. With purposeful ingredients like pea protein, MCT oil, turmeric, ginger, and cacao, the bars go beyond fuel. They provide nourishment that supports digestion, balances energy, and may reduce inflammation.
Co-founder Joel Montesano’s passion for fitness began as a teenager and was strengthened by 14 years of service in the U.S. Navy, including time in the Naval Nuclear Power Program. After decades of experimenting with countless protein supplements that left him unsatisfied, Joel, along with his wife Lynda and healthcare expert Bridget Grover, decided to take matters into their own hands. Together, they created Five Plus Protein with a clear vision: empower people to take charge of their health rather than waiting until illness forces change.
“Good health is not reactive,” Joel explains. “It is proactive. Five Plus Protein is designed to give people the tools they need to make intentional choices every day that add up to long-term wellness.”
For Lynda Montesano, the company’s mission is deeply personal. Living with a spinal disease and a lupus diagnosis has made her especially mindful of the power of nutrition. She struggled to find protein bars that were gentle on her system yet flavorful and satisfying. This challenge became a driving force behind Five Plus Protein’s formulations.

“Food is medicine, and it has the ability to help or harm,” Lynda says. “I wanted something clean and nourishing that still tasted amazing. That is why taste was never negotiable for us.”
This philosophy comes to life in the flavors: Lemon Ginger, Peanut Butter, and Mocha Latte with cacao nibs and caffeine. Each option delivers a balance of protein and flavor that makes healthy choices enjoyable instead of restrictive.
Five Plus Protein was crafted with versatility in mind. It is a convenient option for moms on the go, a wholesome snack for kids, or a refueling choice after a workout. By combining clean ingredients with great taste, the bars fit seamlessly into everyday routines for families who want to prioritize health without sacrificing flavor or convenience.
Every bar is a step toward better living. Five Plus Protein proves that aging well can be as simple as making intentional choices about what you eat. The brand is not just about surviving the years ahead. It is about thriving in them.

In today’s world, medicine is evolving. It is no longer enough to merely treat symptoms. The new frontier is helping patients live better, fuller lives through precision care. At Shared Wellness MD, Dr. Dennis Sandler has built a practice around that philosophy. For over thirty years, he has combined his expertise as a board-certified OB-GYN with a deep commitment to hormonal balance, thyroid health, weight management, and body sculpting. His vision is that health should not be reactive. It should be intentional.

Walking into Shared Wellness MD feels different. The space signals that this clinic is designed for more than checkups. Patients come here expecting to partner in their health, not just to be told what to do. Dr. Sandler’s model ensures you will see the doctor at every visit, and he takes time to truly listen, account for your goals, and build trust. His approach brings together medical science, nuance, and personalization. Treatments like bioidentical hormone pellet therapy, thyroid restoration, weight programs, and sculpting options are tools, not ends in themselves. They are calibrated to support the individual behind the patient.

Hormonal optimization is among the cornerstone services. Most people don’t realize how many facets of daily life such as energy, mood, sleep, and body composition are governed by balanced hormone levels. Shared Wellness MD treats hormonal disruption as a system problem, not an isolated issue. Their protocols consider diet, stress, environment, exercise, and genetics. Patients with balanced hormones often report more vitality, improved mental clarity, restful sleep, and a restored sense of wellbeing.
Complementing that focus is thyroid and weight management. Many patients have been told their thyroid levels are “normal,” yet still struggle with fatigue, brain fog, or persistent weight gain. Dr. Sandler goes deeper, interpreting symptoms with nuance and helping patients regain metabolic balance through guided diet, supplementation, and precision medicine including the GLP 1 agonists semaglutide and tirzepatide. Shared Wellness MD’s body sculpting services then give patients the support they seek, pairing aesthetics with clinical integrity.
Shared Wellness MD’s mission is to deliver care that moves beyond standard medicine and toward total wellness. That means integrating prevention, optimization, and aesthetics into a patient’s journey. It is a proactive stance. The goal is not to chase disease but to cultivate resilience and vitality. In a world full of generic prescription protocols, this practice stands for deeply personalized care.
If you are seeking a clinic that understands your hormonal needs, your metabolic challenges, or your desire to age gracefully, not as a passive patient but as an active partner, Shared Wellness MD is here.

Looking for a new fitness challenge that pushes both your strength and endurance? HYROX is one of the fastest-growing competitive fitness races in the world, and F45 Oklahoma is helping everyday athletes prepare to take it on.
HYROX is designed as an entry-level competition, but it’s intense and pushes you out of your comfort zone from start to finish. The event combines functional strength movements with endurance running, and every competitor completes the same course regardless of age or experience. For many, the thrill comes not just from completing the competition but from training with intention in the months leading up to race day.

Tamra Gould, General Manager at F45 Oklahoma, says the key to success is a focused plan. “We recommend pairing one to two HYROX-focused classes each week with a strength day and our F45 Run Club,” she shares. “I love that you can train alongside people who are going to the HYROX competition. The energy is contagious.”
F45’s programming naturally builds a foundation for HYROX preparation. Members are already used to functional strength movements, interval work, and cardio bursts. What the HYROX-specific classes offer is more tailored training to simulate competition day. Participants work through sled pushes, wall balls, rowing, farmer’s carries, and more — all essential components of the event.

Most participants train for 8 to 12 weeks prior to competition. In that time, members get familiar with the structure of the race and gradually increase their stamina and performance on each station. F45 coaches provide modifications and pacing strategies, so whether someone is a seasoned athlete or new to fitness competitions, they feel ready to go.
The next big event for F45 Oklahoma athletes is HYROX Dallas, taking place November 21–23. Several members from local studios are already signed up and in the middle of their training cycle.
“I started F45 classes about 1.5 years ago.
I really like the variety of the classes and training equipment that is used daily. The erg machines are used for cardiovascular development that is not found at other gyms. Within a few months of training I was introduced to Hyrox by my daughter. My first competition was in Hong Kong where I placed 1st. That gave me the opportunity to attend the World Championships in Chicago in June. I proudly placed 13th in my age group.
I could not have competed so strongly without the support of my Coaches and the training that was provided by F45.“
-Nancy Pontikes

With an inclusive, team-driven atmosphere, HYROX is the perfect next step for anyone looking to test their limits while staying connected to a supportive community. The experience builds real momentum that carries into your everyday training.

Pudendal Nerve Stimulator (PNS) is an emerging and highly promising therapy for individuals suffering from chronic pelvic pain and pudendal neuralgia. The pudendal nerve, which stems from the sacral nerve roots (S2–S4), controls movement and sensation in key pelvic areas. When this nerve becomes damaged or entrapped, patients often experience persistent pain while sitting, genital burning, genital tingling, genital numbness, and even bladder, bowel, or sexual dysfunction.

How Peripheral Nerve Stimulation Works
Peripheral Nerve Stimulation (PNS), also known as pudendal nerve stimulation, involves placing a small electrode adjacent to the pudendal nerve—typically accessed using real time xray guidance in the deep pelvis. Once implanted, a wearable device delivers gentle, pulsed electrical signals that modulate nerve activity and block pain transmission to the brain. Clinical trials support its effectiveness, with many patients reporting significant pain reduction, decreased reliance on pain medications, and improved quality of life.
Where It Fits in Care
Pudendal nerve stimulation is typically reserved for patients who have not found relief through conservative methods such as medication, physical therapy, nerve blocks, or surgery. It is especially valuable when a nerve block provides temporary relief, indicating that neuromodulation may offer long-term benefits.
Patient Selection and Procedure {Design note – block in orange}
Ideal candidates for this treatment include individuals who:
The procedure is minimally invasive and performed on an outpatient basis. The stimulator generator and lead while implanted under the skin are externally powered, which means patients do not require internal batteries.

Recovery, Safety, and Clinical Support
Patients are generally able to resume normal activities shortly after implantation. However, certain movements, such as excessive bending or stretching, should be avoided during the early weeks to reduce the risk of the lead moving in the pelvis. The treatment is well tolerated, and adverse events are rare and typically mild, such as temporary discomfort or site irritation. A growing body of research supports the use of pudendal nerve stimulation for managing chronic pelvic pain, showing sustained pain relief, improved function, and enhanced emotional well-being in a high percentage of patients. The pudendal nerve stimulator system is uniquely designed to be flexible and customizable, offering targeted stimulation of various peripheral nerves, including the pudendal nerve.
Where to go for Treatment
Dr. Benjamin Barenberg, a fellowship-trained and board-certified urogynecologist in OKC, has incorporated pudendal PNS into his treatment approach for patients with chronic pelvic pain. With advanced training in minimally invasive pelvic surgery and pelvic floor disorders, Dr. Barenberg now offers Pudendal Nerve Stimulator (PNS) to carefully selected patients.
“The pudendal nerve stimulator offers a new minimally invasive option for those with refractory pelvic pain,” says Dr. Barenberg. “The best part is I don’t have to convince you of how well it works — the test phase lets you take the device for an effectiveness test drive prior to full implantation. It gives you the opportunity to make a clinical judgment for yourself with real-time therapy feedback.”
Individuals typically undergo this trial phase to determine if the device offers sufficient relief before committing to permanent implantation. This approach ensures that patients move forward with confidence, backed by their own experience and results.
Pudendal nerve stimulation offers a transformative solution for individuals living with chronic pelvic pain. As more providers like Dr. Barenberg bring this therapy into their practice, patients in the Oklahoma City metro have increased access to non-opioid, long-term pain relief. The partnership between expert clinical care and cutting-edge technology is changing what’s possible for those suffering from one of the most complex and debilitating forms of pelvic pain.

Sleep is more than a nightly routine. It is the cornerstone of mental, emotional, and physical health. Yet in today’s world, quality rest feels harder than ever to achieve. Busy schedules, constant screen exposure, and chronic stress leave many people waking up tired despite spending hours in bed.
“Most of us grow up believing we should be able to go to bed at ten and wake up refreshed at six,” says Dr. Sean Whelan. “When that doesn’t happen, we blame ourselves for caffeine, screens, or stress. But the truth is, perfect sleep is rare. It’s more like hitting a personal record in the gym than an everyday expectation.”

Good sleep is essential for brain health, emotional balance, and physical recovery. When we rest well, our minds process information clearly, our bodies repair efficiently, and our moods remain steadier. Consistent rest builds resilience and helps us better manage the demands of daily life.
According to Dr. Whelan, even with all the technology and resources available, achieving perfect sleep is nearly impossible. He points to tech entrepreneur Bryan Johnson, who famously spends millions each year optimizing his rest. “He has a temperature-controlled room, sensors, and even adaptive bedding,” Dr. Whelan explains. “Yet even he only achieved fourteen nights of perfect sleep in a row. That should tell us how rare perfection is.”
While flawless sleep may not be realistic, improving it absolutely is. Experts recommend starting with two foundational steps: maintaining a consistent sleep schedule and spending enough time in bed. “Adults still need eight hours,” Dr. Whelan emphasizes. “People who genuinely need less make up only about three percent of the population, so most of us can’t claim to be the exception.”
Environment also matters. A cool, dark, and quiet room helps signal the body to rest, though Dr. Whelan notes that comfort is personal. “If the sound of your spouse or even your dog breathing helps you relax, that’s fine. Just make sure your sleep tracker agrees with you.”
Other small adjustments can make a meaningful difference: limit caffeine after mid-afternoon, avoid using alcohol as a sleep aid, and resist the temptation to set your alarm too early. “Waking up out of deep sleep feels awful, so people set alarms early to soften the blow,” Dr. Whelan says. “But all that does is rob you of the most restorative part of your rest.”
Sleep disruption and mental health are deeply connected. Chronic sleep loss can worsen anxiety, depression, and stress, while improving sleep often becomes one of the first steps toward emotional well-being. For some, medication can also play an important role. The right prescription, at the right dose, can restore balance and significantly improve both sleep and mood when paired with therapy and lifestyle changes.
At Resilient Psychotherapy & Psychiatric Services, the team takes a personalized approach to care, helping clients identify the root causes of poor sleep and guiding them toward lasting improvement. Therapy, medication management, and supportive follow-up are all part of a comprehensive plan designed to help patients feel rested, balanced, and more in control of their health.
“Sleep disruption remains a chronic challenge in our culture, even though we know how essential it is for recovery, cognitive and emotional stability, and muscle repair,” says the team at Resilient Psychotherapy & Psychiatric Services.
Improving sleep is one of the most powerful ways to strengthen both mind and body. To learn more about personalized therapy and psychiatric care, visit Resilient Psychotherapy & Psychiatric Services in Oklahoma City or schedule a telehealth consultation today.

Strength training is more than a fitness goal. It is a foundation for staying strong, healthy, and vibrant at every stage of life. At Orangetheory Fitness in Moore and Southwest Oklahoma City, we blend strength, cardio, and coaching to help members burn fat and build muscle while supporting long-term health. Most members see and feel results in just a few weeks, gaining confidence alongside physical strength.

Orangetheory’s 50-minute strength training classes focus on building muscle, improving endurance, and enhancing metabolism. Using weights, resistance bands, and bodyweight exercises, these sessions target all major muscle groups, from legs and glutes to arms and core. Consistent training improves muscle tone and functional strength, helping members feel capable and empowered in everyday life. Strength training also protects against chronic diseases commonly linked to inactivity, including type 2 diabetes, heart disease, dementia, and some cancers.
The benefits extend beyond muscle. Each squat, pushup, or weight lift places gentle stress on your bones, signaling your body to build new bone tissue. This helps maintain skeletal strength and reduces the risk of fractures. Strong muscles and improved coordination also prevent falls, helping older adults maintain independence and confidence in movement. Muscle tissue itself is metabolically active, burning calories even at rest, making it a key factor in maintaining a healthy weight.

Orangetheory classes use heart-rate monitored intervals that elevate your heart rate into the Orange Zone, supporting cardiovascular endurance, stamina, and overall heart health. Each session combines aerobic and anaerobic elements to maximize calorie burn, increase metabolism, and enhance energy throughout the day. The post-exercise oxygen consumption effect keeps the body in fat-burning mode hours after the workout, helping members achieve a leaner and stronger physique.
Strength training is also a mental health booster. Completing challenging exercises releases endorphins, reduces stress, and improves focus and mood. Orangetheory Moore and Southwest Oklahoma City provide a supportive, community-focused environment where members are guided and encouraged throughout each workout. Group energy, expert coaching, and personalized attention make each session both effective and motivating.
At Orangetheory Moore and Southwest Oklahoma City, strength training is designed to protect the body, prevent chronic disease, maintain healthy bones, and keep members active and independent. Whether new to fitness or an experienced athlete, the 50-minute strength-focused classes offer measurable results in a safe, effective, and engaging format.
Experience the difference consistent strength training can make. Burn fat, build muscle, and gain the strength to stay youthful, active, and healthy for years to come.

When life feels busier than ever, especially during the holidays, finding time to work out can seem impossible. Between work deadlines, school events, and family gatherings, carving out an hour or more for the gym often falls to the bottom of the list. That is where F45’s 45-minute format comes in, offering a science-backed approach that delivers results without requiring endless time.

F45’s training system is built around efficiency. Each session combines strength, cardio, and functional movement to create a full-body workout that maximizes effort in less time. The real magic lies in the intensity. Research shows that short bursts of focused exercise can boost metabolism, increase endurance, and build lean muscle long after the workout ends. It is not about spending more time in the gym. It is about using that time wisely.
For many members, those 45 minutes become a reset button. It is a break from the noise of the day, a moment to focus fully on themselves before returning to everything else waiting outside the studio doors. The format fits easily into a lunch hour or before-school routine, allowing busy professionals and parents to stay consistent even during their most hectic weeks.
Tamra Gould, General Manager at F45, says the reason members stay so loyal is simple: the results speak for themselves. “So many times when I talk to our veteran members and ask what has kept them coming all these years, nine out of ten say it is the results,” she shares.
Those results often tell powerful, personal stories. One member reversed osteoporosis through strength training at F45. Another, Juan, used the workouts as the foundation to lose 60 pounds and rebuild his confidence. Tamra has seen how stories like these ripple through the studio, inspiring newer members to push harder and trust the process.

The 45-minute format also fits perfectly with the rhythm of the holiday season. When routines are unpredictable and schedules are packed, shorter workouts make it easier to stay on track. Each session is different, blending endurance, agility, and strength in new ways. The programming keeps members engaged while still challenging the body to adapt and grow. Every class brings a sense of excitement and accomplishment that keeps people coming back.
In just 45 minutes, members leave feeling grounded and proud. The energy in the studio builds with every set and every shout of encouragement. Coaches stay present, helping with form, motivation, and mindset. Small moments of progress—lifting a little heavier, moving a little faster, finishing one more rep—begin to add up.
The holidays can make it easy to lose momentum, but F45 proves that consistency does not require perfection. It is about showing up and giving your best in whatever time you have.
This season, carve out 45 minutes for yourself. The results will last far longer than the workout.
